Your Health Won’t Wait: Stop Making Excuses.

Your Health Won’t Wait: Stop Making Excuses.

I’m waiting for you to open this post just like you are waiting for that right opportunity.

The “right time”.

I’m here to tell you to stop waiting for the appointment, the text, the right time of year, the go-ahead from that person; the one thing holding you at arms length to your true potential.

We’ve all got something we want to improve on in life.

A better body — but your gym buddy isn’t ready yet and you could do with the extra cash anyways so you’re holding back on that gym membership… plus you’ve got a dodgy knee and have been waiting months for an appointment with your doctor who has advised you to “rest” it.

A better income — but you’ve been with this company for a while now and feel a duty to them… plus leaving or going self-employed might be more work and what if it fails?

A better lifestyle — but your parents live nearby and you still keep in contact with your high school friends, you’ll have to make new friends and grow a new community around you…plus you might have to leave your job and what if life doesn’t kick off straight away over there?

And I really hate to advertise Nike here but you really need to JUST DO IT.

Start the gym membership with or without your gym buddy, spend the extra cash on a healthier you, and do a bit of research about that knee; contacting chiropractors, physios and sports therapists — to get an idea of whats going on.

Quit your job. At the end of the day you’ve got to make sure YOU are happy because you’ve got to live with yourself for the rest of your life and it won’t be any fun if you’re dragging yourself to a 9–5 job for every day of it.

Human beings are intelligent. Naturally, we look for the easiest way around something; the path with the least friction. And sometimes that path means not doing at all. A lot of the time, creating an excuse — as legitimate as we make ourselves believe it is — can just be the easiest path.

And you’ve got to give it to the human race, it’s pretty impressive how extensively we can lie to ourselves without blinking an eye and just carry on with our lives!

So give yourself a pat on the back for all the lying you’ve pulled off for so long; but now is the time to finally be honest with yourself. If you want it that badly, get of your arse and go do something about it. Make it happen. There is nothing more rewarding than making sh*t happen. Trust me, your future self will thank you.
