What You Need to Know About Me and Why It Could Change Your Life

What You Need to Know About Me and Why It Could Change Your Life

I was thinking about what to write about today and realised, I haven’t actually introduced myself yet — how rude!

I think it’s important to know who’s writing to you — it would be a bit weird to keep receiving letters from a complete stranger advising you on how to live a healthier life …bit intrusive really.

I’ll give you a quick run down on who I am and what I do.

My name is Lucy Roberts, a single mum who’s been a sports therapist, nutritionist, and personal trainer for the best part of my life. I’ve had many years of experience in my fields, and pride myself on the results I’ve achieved. In my spare time, I stalk sailboats online.

Recently, I came to the idea of blog posts and thought, “What a marvellous way to share my knowledge, using real-client cases to help others who I wouldn’t normally be able to reach.”

I want to share the brutal truths and be straight up about how you can improve your quality of life — don’t be prude, we can all do something, none one is perfect.

I see people every day who, some, are facing life changing conditions like Inclusion Body Myositis and Sarcopenia. Some of these people are facing wheelchairs in just a few years. Others, are sports professionals who need injuries attending to. And some are just normal people who, after a lifetime of physical labour, are suffering with common conditions like Sciatica and Plantar Fasciitis. I treat them using deep tissue massage, I advise on diet and nutrition, and I recommend exercise specifically for them and the future they’re facing. I love my job. But what I don’t love, is the human race’s attitude.

Some of my clients are really great, and when I give them these guidelines (and they listen), they see REAL results. Others, however, feel the type of butter they use is a lifetime habit which cannot be changed. These people are choosing butter over the ability to walk in 5 years — obviously it’s not that simple but you get my point. Mind over matter.

Anyways, what I’m trying to say is by using these real-life examples, I want to show you, as an outsider looking in, just how these small changes can make a huge differences to your quality of life and health.

I’m going to be blunt, and a little brutal at times. But I wouldn’t be stressing these points if I hadn’t seen the results, first hand, over and over again. Common conditions and struggles that your gps are overlooking or misdiagnosing. Knee replacement appointments I’ve had cancelled because it wasn’t their knee that was the problem in the first place. Scary truths.

So stick around if you want to grab hold of your life and start taking control of your own health.
